Sapphire Soft Leaf Buffalo
Here at Chevallum Turf we provide three main varieties of turf for our consumers needs from domestic to commercial, we've got your lawn covered.
Sapphire Soft Leaf Buffalo has a super fine texture and will hold its winter colour longer than other varieties. Due to the tight weave of this fine textured grass, weeds find it hard to compete. If you want a buffalo leaf but not the coarseness this variety is for you.

Maintenance
- Use a complete fertiliser in April & September
- In cooler months, use a slow release fertiliser to promote lush green lawn eg. Supergreen
Mowing
- Every 5-10 days in the hot months and every 3-6 weeks in the cooler months
- Mow 2-5cm in sunny/light shaded areas
- Mow 5-7cm in heavier shaded areas
Watering
- Water thoroughly and frequently once Sapphire Grass has been laid
- Once the root system is established – water thoroughly every 7-10 days in Summer
- Winter Months – little water required if any
- Do not over water. For best results water early morning
Pests/Weeds
Sapphire is resistant to most pests/weeds compared to other turf varieties, however, if problems occur we advise:
- Weeds: hand eradicate where possible or apply a suitable weedicide
- Pests: Watch for lawn grubs/African black better, apply a suitable pesticide
Do not use sprays containing DICAMBA on Sapphire Buffalo
